What do you do if your cat climbed on a really tall tree?

Thanks.

The cat will come down on its own. No cat ever climbed up a tree and died because it could not come back down. If you want to get it down quickly, spray above it with a water hose. Once it gets wet, it starts to run. Please don't call 911.

I wouldn't wet it but yes it will come back down. Does the cat like a special treat? Canned wet food or something to entice it down souls help. Mine came running when I started the can opener. Lol

We tried the cat food and tuna. Won't move an inch... Also, called the Charlotte Fire Department and they said it's not their job to save cats from trees!!!

Go get it.

Hire a bucket truck. Call some roofers (tall ladders). Climb.

Cats die of exposure or dehydration all the time. Tonight will be terribly cold, you need to get it down.

And if it needs to said... Water is a terrible idea. Especially considering how cold it is.

Climbing a 50' tree is a really smart idea By instinct, the cat will come down on its own!

Poor cat. I know Sunbelt Tool Rentals have ladders to rent for the hour/day. If you feel confident about it, I would rent a ladder and see if you can help it down. But I wouldn't advise it. If you do do it, wear a long sleeve sweater and thick gloves. And be prepared for it to freak out that way you aren't startled off the ladder. In fact the more I think about it..don't do it. See if you can rent a bucket truck as another suggested. I would start with Sunbelt Rental, they might be able to point the way. Or a tree cutting company might help too.

Cats climb in both directions; hunger is a good motivator. If there's a well-meaning crowd around, it might be afraid to come down.
