Brawley Commons is a neighborhood retail center located on the southwest corner of Brawley School Road and Williston Road in the Town of Mooresville in Iredell County, North Carolina.

Previous tenants in Brawley Commons included Lowe's Foods #241 (631-100 Brawley School Road, Mooresville, North Carolina 28117-6204) and Rite Aid #11458 (631-300 Brawley School Road, Mooresville, North Carolina 28117-6204). Lowe's Foods #241 relocated to Mooresville Town Center, 125 Center Square Drive, Mooresville, North Carolina 28117-6996. Rite Aid #11458, previously Eckerd, relocated to a freestanding location at 614 Brawley School Road, Mooresville, North Carolina 28117-9121
Publix:
A posting soliciting bids for renovation for "Publix at Brawley Commons (Mooresville, North Carolina)." (Construction Data Company) was posted Friday, 6 March 2015. Publix is likely locating in the 42,142 square feet space vacated by Lowe's Foods #241.

Interesting. Like their store in Huntersville. Good deal on meat although I can't attest to the quality as I've not purchased any (just get their circular, too far away to drive down generally).

The eight Publix stores currently open in North Carolina are at least 45,600 square feet in size. The minimum square footage was the size of several Bi-Lo stores Publix acquired in 2013. The Brawley Commons store, if it does not expand beyond 42,142 square feet, would be Publix's smallest store in North Carolina.
It will be interesting to see what Publix does with its new Brawley Commons store. One notable change to the space will be the inclusion of a pharmacy department, something Lowe's Foods #241 did not have at Brawley Commons and does not have at Mooresville Town Center. I do not know if Publix may expand the space westward toward the former Rite Aid #11458 or include a pharmacy drive through.

New South Properties of the Carolinas, LLC has a brochure for Brawley Commons featuring Publix.
Reviewing the updated site plan, Publix will construct the new store after the former Lowe's Foods #241 and Rite Aid #11458 are razed. The new store will feature a pharmacy drive through on the B-side, the side toward Williamson Road.
Funny to see the local grocery chains revamping their stores in anticipation of Publix opening up. Unfortunately for Lowe's food, the store looks great but their prices are so out of line on most items that they probably just spent a lot of remodel money to not generate a lot of new customers and likely will still lose many to Publix across the street.

When is the grand opening date for Publix?
You hit the target on Lowe's Foods. It is spending money to update its stores and be creative with enhanced service departments. It still has ways to go to be on a level on Harris Teeter and Publix. How many new or updated stores have pharmacies? None so far. Lowe's Foods needs to step it up, or it will go the way of Food Lion. Lowe's Foods #241, Mooresville Town Square, 125 Center Square Drive, Mooresville, North Carolina 28117-6996, will struggle.
I am not aware of Publix #1519's opening date. I could project late July or early August.
