Hi,
I'm just trying to get a feel for the areas?!? We are relocating to Charlotte from Pittsburgh, PA. Although I grew up in Goldsboro, NC at Seymour Johnson AFB. Anyhow we prefer to near the city yet in a suburb. We have two young children ages 5 & 8, yet love to party. Not to mentsion my husband loves to golf and needs to be within an hour drive of the airport preferably under 45 minutes.

Anyhow, we drove down for a quick day trip to check out the East side of Lake Norman. We fell in love with the Peninsula in Cornelius. We really loved the fact that it was a self contained area although we can't afford it. My Husband's second choice is Northstone. Originally we were thinking between $350-$485,000, all brick or stucco homes. But with taking a new job and the crash the market is doing we're hoping to sell our home and rent for a year or two.

One area we didn't look at is Denver, NC. We found it online once we got back home. We like that you can get newer larger homes for less money unlike Cornelius. Are there any great family orientated Private Golf Clubs in Denver?

Can anyone give me some great sites to look at rentals? Anyways...
Thanks in advance!!!
Lisa & Scott

Verdict Ridge in Denver has a huge golf course with some homes right on the course. Dave037 (username) bought in there and is having his house built. He seems to be pretty happy with the whole setup. It is a nice neighborhood with homes ranging in the $400-$1M+

As you see, HUNTERSVILLE won hands down. I knew the outcome before I even voted!

An awesome place to live and raise a family!

Thanks Andy,

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I will definetly look into Moderator cut: Direct Message Name As rentals are our priority now. Let ssay a prayer for our economy. Anyhow...

Thanks Dave,
As I said we are hoping to rent the first 2 years if not more. Anyhow how does Denver compare with Huntersville & Cornelius? Is it rapidly growing or are they still having issues with the land and zoning?

Reason being we are moving from Cranberry TWP, PA which is rapidly growing. By 2010 we won't recognize this place. Westinghouse decided to put their head quarters out here and the township has exploded. Basically construction on every corner is being planned. To give everyone an idea of what we're leaving, you can check out and before Cranberry we lived in Schaumburg, IL north of Chicago:

Westing House, Cracker Barrel, Simon Malls it all spells Chaos for now. If Denver isn't that developed I'm not sure I want to be out there!?! Is there a lot to do there with the kids? Anyhow Thanks again for your time Guys!
Take Care,
Lisa & Scott

I would recommend Davidson and the homes in Old Davidson. It would be in the upper end of your price range but a great area and town.

dont forget to factor county taxes. Lincoln County (Denver) taxes are alot lower than Cornelius and Huntersville, etc.

I pay $1000 less for my $165000 condo in Cornelius than I do for my $460K home in Catawba county. $1600 vs $2600, i dunno, i guess if you got the extra money for taxes, go for it!
