We need to find a place comparable and close to Huntersville but WITHOUT subdivisions and all that comes with HOAs. I want to look in places where you can install your own pool, trampolines, and fence in your yard. Do not want HOAs having a say in what we can and can't install.

Are there any older neighborhoods in Huntersville that are NOT part of HOAs?

Any info is greatly appreciated!

Thanks! JMJ

Their are plenty of areas in Huntersville without HOA's. The east side of I-77 has plenty of open space for you to build or find the right home without a community. Have you been looking? What price point are you looking in?

We're looking for a 3 bedroom PLUS bonus room; or 4 bedroom and 2 bath; with private pool or decent sized yard so that we could install a pool and possibly with enough room for a trampoline and maybe a swing set. Anything in the $200k range?

Have close relatives who live in Huntersville, but we don't like the restrictions of HOAs. Preferably in Huntersville or nearby surrounding areas.

Thanks! JMJ

That price is going to be very difficult to find.

If your max budget is $200,000, its going to be very difficult.

Small southern town enveloped on all sides by subdivisions: One bet is to look for the houses that are on the original old downtown "street grid". Not all the houses are great, while some are very expensive. But you could find a gem, and since it's in an area that was built when the "public realm" was still valued, you will avoid HOAs

Check out Breckenridge. It's a small, established neighborhood tucked into Birkdale about a 1/2 mile from from Blythe Landing on Sam Furr/Hwy 73. There are 88 houses and 22 have pools; nice large lots with mature trees and landscaping. There is an HOA but it small and undefined with very little say in how things are done.

Try something near Latta Plantation or old downtown Huntersville?

Pretty much anything built here after the 1990's will have an HOA.

Go south...off of I-485 (the new section that just opened in June). The Prosperity Church Rd area has plenty of subdivisions and many at that price range.
