Hi everyone!
What would be the closest License Plate, and Drivers License, site to get to from the Ballantyne area?
I'm totally confused.
Sincerely,
Maddie Claire
It takes a while to get an appt(4-6 weeks the last time I checked). The Monroe dmv on 74E is the best one I have seen (about 3-5 miles east of 485). Emmisary said he went about 2 weeks ago and he was the only one there.

Thank you! This sounds great! Is Monroe a street name (I can't find the location)?
Are drivers license and license plates issued at this same location?
Today we went to a DMV located around Independence St. and there was (what seemed to be) a zillion people at the office, then we went to the drivers license office in the same area and it was packed to the gills.
We went to get books to study for the test but they were out.
Tomorrow we'll try again, hopefully at a less busy area.

Nope, not that one. The license plate office is about another 2 miles or so. I was there last month...around 11:30 am. I waited 12 min. You can download the book online NCDOT Division of Motor Vehicles: Driver Services

Do NOT - under any circumstances - go to the Arrowood office. You'll be there for hours and hours. I don't know about the Monroe office, but I do know that the office in Belmont is practically empty on most days.
A very big, THANK YOU! I have it printed out and ready to go (soon as I study, that is)!
I believe (somewhere in this forum) there is a link to a website that could help you with the test. Try doing a search in the Charlotte forum for drivers license.
Thanks again to everyone for the helpful responses.
This board makes relocating so much easier!
Have a great day - enjoy the rain.
Sincerely,
Maddie Claire
