Indian Trail/Lake Park (Charlotte, Monroe: home, subdivisions, price)

My husband and I will be retiring to the Charlotte area in June. We are 60 years old and are looking for a nice community near shopping and not too far from the airport. We have been looking in the Indian Trail and Monroe areas. We would love comments on subdivisions in these areas; especially near Indian Trail. So far, we have looked at Lake Park and Merriweather. We are hoping to find a small home for around 150,000. Thanks for any input or suggestions.

Lake Park looks good on Realtor.com; but I haven't been there personally. What did you think of the area?
Your price point is tough in that area (I'm in a similar range), you might want to cast a wider net and look into Waxhaw too.
