Moving to the outskirts of Charlotte with bi-racial children (Mint Hill: high school, living)

Hi, I would like to relocate to the outskirts of Charlotte and would like more information about living there with bi-racial children. I'm looking to live in an area that's safe, has good schools, close enough to Charlotte to commute daily, has a good mixture of cultures, middle class/liberal, and somewhere that my children aren't going to be discriminated against. I've been told that Mint Hill is an okay place to live, but would like more advice. I'm 30 years old, white, and a single mother of 2. My children will be in middle and high school when we move. Please let me know your honest opinions, it will be greatly appreciated. Also, please let me know what areas I should avoid as far as racism goes. Thanks!

I have two neices and a nephew who are bi-racial. We live up on the North end of town. As far as I know they seem to be ok with the other kids at school. Obviously you will get the shallow minded wherever you go in the world.
