Hello,

Our Family is considering a move from Long Island, NY to Mooresville. YES we know about the traffic. We have made several vists and seem to like The Farms. Can anyone tell me about living in The Farms. Any and all info you can share with me about The Farms and the entire area would be so helpful. We are looking for a life style change. We have two daughters ages 8 & 10. We also need a great place for equestrian lessons, very important. Thank you all for your help.

It is a nice area - growing a lot. Brawley School Road is suppose to be widened, but I don't remember when they said it would start/finish. I am sure you will love it - lots of people from all over live in the lake area.

There's actually a riding place on Brawley School Road near Stutts Road. You may want to check them out. We don't live too, too far from the Farms and we are okay with the area. Traffic has it's moments (rush hour), but it's no worse than other places in the area (Exit 28, Exit 25, etc). Believe me, it's got nothing on NJ or DC area rush hours! Good luck with your move!

I just moved here 3 weeks ago from Michigan and I moved into The Point, just beyond The Farms. So far, I like it and there are many things around here--I find that I don't need to leave the immediate area. I learned quickly the times to move around here. If schools are opening/closing, stay away. For some crazy reason, every parent in the area drives their kids to school. I made my kids aware of how far it would be to walk to school so as to get the point across of making sure that they catch the bus! If the parents put their kids on the bus, let's just say there would probably be about 500 less cars on the road. They are moving utilities on Brawley right now, have not started any actual road demolition, but it will be started soon.

I have been riding my motorcycle around to explore and I went through The Farms last week. Not sure of where I was, but I turned at the fire station and ended up going past the pool and kept going for a while. It seemed to be really spread out with little definition, so it was a little difficult for me to get a good handle on The Farms.

The lake is beautiful and I am finding that I have difficulty paying attention to my work during the day--the office in my house looks right out at the lake. Schools seem to be great. According to the stats from The Point, there are about 1400 kids in here--I estimated about half are in my kids age range 9-13 from the demographic information in the book. I like it so far. My opinion to recomend over other areas in the Charlotte area would be worthless however. Hope this helps.

Thank you everyone so far for your information. It all helps. If you think of anything else please write more. If you run into anyone who lives in the Farms that would be helpful too.
