I'm interested in buying a house in the Huntley Glen subdivision in Pineville. I have viewed a couple of the town homes, as well as a couple of the single family homes there, through the True Homes rep. She was new and wasn't that helpful.
For those who live there, what are the pros and cons of that community? I haven't seen any information regarding the HOA management company, and the amenities for that community, clubhouse, pool, etc. If you can, may you please share your experiences, knowledge.
TH will sell you a story about their warranty and not follow through. They sub-contract out to the lowest bidder and you'll end up with a sub-par home.
When we first got our home, they were wonderful. In the first year they were very attentive. Now that other issues have come up with structural problems of the home they claim that it's normal wear and tear. We had them finally admit after two years that our bathroom floor was improperly installed and after opening a complaint with the BBB they finally fixed it. The grout was cracking and coming up -- they initially said that was normal.
We have an outstanding issue with the siding and waterproofing that was done. They claim that it's "homeowner maintenance" we did as they said and got a second opinion from someone they recommended and they went back and continued to deny what the person that inspected found (incorrect installation requiring the taking off of the siding on that side of the house to get to the problem). We're in wait and see mode since we're going to do what they claim will fix it and see what happens.
Find another neighborhood with a different builder. We also have a few neighbors with TH homes that have had many problems -- including a rotting deck in a 4 year old home -- and TH refuses to do anything since it's out of "warranty".
To add, they also build barely to code. The issue with the bathroom tile is just one of a laundry list that surfaced a year and a half into being in the home.
