Dance Studio/Music Lessons (Welcome, Waxhaw: school, professionals, move)

Relocating to Waxhaw area soon. Just wondering if anyone has daughters who do competition dance in the area. My 12 year old has been taking tap for 6 years and would like to get into competitions. I would like to check things out for her before we move so she can have something to look forward to. Also, my 16 year old son is a "rock musician". I was wondering if there was a music school where he could meet other teens to "jam" with. This would be a great way for him to meet people as he is not into sports.

Check out Steps n motion at the Fountains. Welcome to Steps 'N Motion Dance Studio Other popular dance studios are Miller Street and Visions Dance Academy. But my neighbor dances competitively (and beautifully) at steps n motion.

Music and Arts in the Arboretum has lessons, but no classes. You might check out a place called The Playroom, you can find them on the net at http://www/theplayroomonline.com (broken link). Also, look on Craig's List.

Thanks, I checked it out. It seems like it is for professionals but I sent them an email. Does anyone else know of any other place for a 16 year old rock guitarist new to the area to meet other kids to jam with?

Yea, I had a hard time finding anything else, esp. that catered to young 'uns. I would hope that would at least be somewhere for you to start, and they can give you some information. Good luck!
