I've been checking out new home subdivisions in the Weddington area and came across this Cardinal Crest. They say starting at $800k but have found actually more like $899k. For this price I would hope to be in a gated community like Highclere, Ladera, Providence Downs. There are 15 lots, with no curbs and gutters, no ammenities and few private and level lots available. I've never heard of the builder and wonder if they've been building long and if they've built in this price range. The exterior plans are ok but the floor plans appear to be dated. Not a good place to put your money in, Especially the kind of money they want!
I find Highclere and Atherton have more progressive floor plans with nice, eye catching exteriors. Both of these neighborhoods seem to have a better community feel and are more inviting. I think these builders are very experienced and use quality material with many up to date ammenities. In my opinion these two subdivisions would be a better bet on future resale appreciation.
Yes, my wife and I have been looking in the Weddington NC area for new homes in the $1mill+ range and saw Cardinal Crest. I agree, VERY CHEAP BUILDER! It is very insulting to the intelligence of the home buying public in this price range for them to pass off this inferior product! Laughable that they think they will build it and anyone will come and buy??? The neighborhood is terrible! Flooding water in the roads, all kinds of trash being dumped in the neighborhood. Very poor planning. I'll buy PDS any day than this junk.
I see where someone has contracted on the only house built there. I believe it was completed in mid-2017. If they pay more than $1Mill for that house, heaven help them when they plan to sell.
