I am interested in finding out more about the Seven Lakes area especially the West End. There doesn't seem to be any way to visit without working with a real estate agent and we're just thinking about a day visit to the area in the fall. We moved to NC from the midwest and the fresh water lakes are of interest to my husband. We haven never been to the area before and would welcome any suggestions on how to visit and what to see.

That's about 2 hours from Charlotte so responses may be limited. You could visit the town of West End and decide if you want a Realtor to take you inside by scheduling an appointment. I'm sure in this economy somebody would be happy to give you a tour at the prospect you like the community and may buy with them.
