Big screw up here, according to industry sources. Morgan Norwood was hired to replace Page Fehling on the morning show, coming from ABC owned WTVD in Raleigh/Durham. But her tenure was short lived after she dropped the F-Bomb live on the air, while reacting negatively to an incoherent script on the teleprompter. She apparently did not realize the live mic was still on, and she thought they had cut to the videotaped story but they had not. She unfortunately took the fall for a script writer's screw up, as she was unceremoniously released by Nexstar. And apparently this became a big scandal across the company, as Nexstar has since instituted a No Profanity Policy in the newsroom company wide. Too bad the script writer screwed up but the anchor took the fall.

Ann Wyatt Little has now been named the permanent replacement, and she confirmed on Twitter that WJZY is indeed renovating the studio. So apparently Nexstar is building a new set, just a few years after former owner FOX had built the scenic skyline backdrop set.

Thanks for the update, had not heard that. Morgan has made her Twitter private. Feel bad for her in that case. In hindsight, Page is a better fit for GDC and AnnWyatt would have been a better fit for the Noon & 4PM slot.

Yes I agree. Page already had good established chemistry with Jason Harper on the morning show, and Ann Wyatt is already established on the evening newscasts. I think they should reverse the staffing here.

And hopefully Morgan can move beyond this incident and return to WTVD or some other station somewhere.

Agreed, in her short time here, I did like her. Much more talented than a few of their people. I applaud Nexstar for trying to build a state of the art news station there, but, the behind the scenes people need to improve. Too many mistakes, misspellings on air, cameras on the wrong anchor, etc. Plus, as stated before, removing traffic reports in the morning is a huge mistake..

Nexstar is trying hard to make WJZY a contender in the Charlotte market, taking over from FOX who had finally just begun to make improvements. They may stand a decent chance of overtaking WCNC, which is more mediocre since the Tegna takeover from Belo. But expect WBTV and WSOC to remain dominant as the strong legacy stations.

Another Fox46 Anchor/Reporter has left the station. Rochelle Metzger is gone. She was one of the best there. Hope she pops up on another Charlotte station.

Too bad Nexstar did not renew her contract, or maybe she chose to leave. But they are clearly making changes since taking over from FOX.

And I still think it is a major loss not having a traffic report on the morning news. Chuck Roads was very good. Now WSOC has the best morning traffic reports with Mark Taylor, and they are often first on the scene with live video of any traffic incident.

Also as expected, no more live reports from FOX News correspondents. But in place of that we now have regional reports from Nexstar stations in Raleigh, Greensboro, Spartanburg, and across the nation. And overall Nexstar is continuing to upgrade their news product, which had finally begun under FOX after their initial failed experiment. And WJZY definitely has the best local sports coverage, whereas WSOC does not even have a normal sports segment anymore. In fact the sports anchor is often a news anchor now.

1 more change on Good Day Charlotte, Nick Kosir announced that he is no longer with the station. I'm sure we will be hearing shortly of his move up to a larger market. Good luck to him.

Sorry to hear him leaving. But they continue to dismantle the original team that had gained popularity. Hope it works for them. And the morning show now seems a bit more news oriented, without all the cooking segments and feature interviews and such.

And speaking of WJZY, they remain on the temp set from the newsroom as they build a new studio. I am guessing it may debut for the May ratings period, but we shall see.

At halftime of tonight's NFL game, Fox 46 announced that they will be re branding their Newscasts from Fox 46 Charlotte to Queen City News in January. New Graphics, new colors. Looked sharp. Wonder if they will rely on more NewsNation reports vs Fox News reports for out of town news?
