The Penguin is a DEFINITE must visit! make sure to get an order of fried pickles and for dessert, banana pudding.

You also have Elizabeth Billiards (1400 Central Ave), and Jeff's Bucket Shop (1601 Montford Dr.).

If you have a car and don't mind a scarier area - check out The Milestone in west Charlotte - it is legendary and even has live music on Sunday nights sometimes - kind of a rarity in Charlotte for a club.

HAHA...gotta check that place out... and the blog was hilarious....

never made it to the Penquin, but will forsure when I move next month....saw it and Common Market when I went to Lulu's (which was awesome ) and Dish (very good)

Zada Janes is a place I need to try as well....that beaver made me thirsty too....let the holiday begin!
