I got a quote from CPI for $4300 for 3 cameras with install. I feel this is pretty high. Can anyone else recommend a company that you have dealt with? TIA

Can't you just put in your own wireless video cams . . . ??? Is there some reason it has to be tied to your alarm system?

It does not need to be tied in at all. I know they do camera systems so I got a quote. I feel that is really too high and so I'm looking for other companies who can do it for cheaper. You know of any?

I'm surprised with all the house crimes going on here that no one is installing video cameras???

Contact this guy: Paul Barbee (980) 581-7586. He works for a company called WIRED. They do all the low-voltage pre-wires in alot of the custom homes on Lake Norman. They did the prewire on my house and they offer video security systems as well.

REALLY nice guy, just did some work on my house last week. He is out of Albamarle but like I said he primarily does work in the Charlotte area. If he asks who referred you, send me a PM and I'll give you my info.

Yes, I have done wireless cams but my son put them in. It was no biggie. He ordered stuff online. Cost ran under $200 a cam. These are very small cams and do not rotate - just fixed.

I spoke to the BF about doing wireless but he wants to do wired so that's why I need someone to come in and do it.
Thanks Sss, I will give him a call next week.

Here's an idea of what the hardware costs for a 4-camera standalone system...see options at Security Cameras Video Surveillance CCTV Systems & Security Camera Systems .

$1000 labor for a 1-day installation would appear more than generous. The $4300 does seem high unless there are IP addressable PTZ cameras in the system. SD
