Don't forget the Western Film Series at the ImaginOn! I couldn't find anything on their website about it, but there was this article (http://www.charlotte.com/entertainment/story/652217.html - broken link) about it in the Observer yesterday.

It's FREE, it's on Sundays (at 2pm, I think?). Basically, they show old westerns (including some silent ones with a dude playing the piano for the soundtrack!) like Rio Bravo, The Searchers, Once Upon A Time In The West, etc. They have the full schedule in the article I linked to. I hope I get a free Sunday or two so I can check it out.

"Event Information: Heroes Convention was founded in 1982 by Shelton Drum, owner of Charlotte's Heroes Aren't Hard To Find comics shop. Boasting an incredible guest list built mainly on reputation and goodwill, HeroesCon is known nationwide as a "must" on the summer schedule, drawing fans, exhibitors, and creators from every region of the country to the Charlotte Convention Center. HeroesCon is also the home of Indie Island, a 10,000+ square foot section in the middle of the convention, dedicated to indie and alternative comics creators and publishers. Since its founding in 2005, Indie Island has quickly become one of the preeminent alternative comics gatherings in the country."
