My Husband and I will be visiting Charlotte the weekend of June 20th. Staying at the Candlewood Suites on West Park Drive. Once we arrive were can we get a GOOD map of the Huntersville, Concord, Kannapolis, University and South Charlotte areas. The maps will need to be as detailed as possible, we will not have a GPS.
You can get plenty of such maps at gas stations. There are some pretty detailed city or area specific maps that should be good.... I know this sounds obvious, so you probably want something better haha.

The maps on Charmeck.org are not detailed enough.
Thanks for your help!!
Any realtor would be happy to give you some maps, some of theirs even show neighborhoods on them. I know you may not be ready to commit to a realtor, but do consider spending a few minutes at least talking to one to get some local tips on places to see. You are trying to cover a HUGE geographical area. Without some guidance you will most likely miss many things you shouldn't miss

May not be easy to find, but phone books have a perferated map in them. Also Concord Mills has maps at their customer service desk, other local malls may have some too. You may also want to try rest areas. Wal-Mart has some at their checkout lines.
Don't know if you will be in the Uptown (Center City) area...but there is a place called Visit Charlotte. They have alot of information about the entire area and maps too. They are only open 8am - 5pm.

We found out the hard way that on Saturdays they close at 3 PM.
As well as all the stores in any of the atriums and at The Green. This was very disappointing.
But not to get off track, when we first moved we got a map at the bookstore....now we use our navigation included on our phone plan...

I highly suggest a gps it will make your trip alot smoother since you dont know what street connects with what and will help alot wherever you located to, and which ones are one way's as mention above Barnes & Noble has a local section with loads of maps
What did we do before we had a gps? Oh, I remember, we used maps!! And got lost a lot!! But our gps goes nuts every time we drive on the new part of rt 16... poor guy gets lost and "recalculates" continuously.
We got a very nice and highly detailed map from our realtor, rhymes with Talon Rate.
