My wife, son and I are moving to Charlotte from the suburbs of NY, and we were pleased to find a branch of one of our favorite restaurants, an Ethiopian place called Meskerem. The main location for Meskerem is in Greenwich Village. Apparently, the owner's sister lives in Clt., and he opened a branch there. I highly recommend it.

PS: I am not related to the owners and don't know them. I love this place though and want to recommend it.

They also have a branch in St. Louis.

Haven't been to Meskerem here, but have been to Red Sea a couple times, and really enjoyed it.

The guy who runs the one in Charlotte said that their sibling owns the one in St. Loius. This place is awesome!

Yeah - exact same menu in Charlotte and St. Louis, so we figured they were connected.

There's a Meskerem in Adams-Morgan in DC around 18th and Q which is excellent, but not related. I honestly liked Red Sea here better than Meskerem in St. Louis, but definitely will give Meskerem here a try.

Can you give us an idea of some of the dishes that you like there?

When I was a G.I. and we were on manouvers or in the field, we ate MREs which was an acronym for "Meals Rejected by Ethiopians".
