Curious if anyone does a work light rail commute FROM uptown in the morning to the tyvola/yorkmont park area? If so, how is it? I'm curious how long it would take and it if it's worth saving on some gas. I would have to get off at tyvola station and grab a bus up to yorkmont park I believe.

I wouldn't think it would be too bad, except it may get crowded at the CTC stop due to people getting off the busses and onto the train. I would recommend getting on at 7th st station and grabbing a seat to avoid any rush that may occur at the CTC stop.

I have taken the train FROM the Tyvola area to Uptown around 5PM (which would be the same people commuting out from uptown in the morning I would assume) and sometimes you can't find a seat, but I've never had a problem actually getting on the train. Most of the occupants do exit at the CTC.

Thanks for the quick reply! I think I would probably get on at the 7th street station anyways, I will be walking down from Graham and 10th street. I think the light rail ride will be fine, the thing I guess I'm most worried about is getting off at tyvola station and waiting for the 60 bus to take me up to yorkmont. Any idea what that will be like?

I have not ridden that route before, but I have never really had much trouble with Charlotte buses during the day. There have been a few occasions when a bus was very late to a stop during a late night schedule, but during the day it all seems fine. Hopefully somebody else here can offer more details.

If you time it right, about 30 minutes. The #60 bus runs from Tyvola Station down Tyvola...runs every 30 minutes, except for a few extra runs during peak times.
