If I'm interpreting it correctly, in 2014 29.6% of Myrtle Beach visitors came from NC (the number 1 state) and of that 29.6%, 9.5% came from Charlotte (the number 1 city in NC). So I'd say yes, lots of people from Charlotte visit MB.
Since it says "Top Ten States and Cities" I presume it doesn't include international visitors.
I will first say that I am a transplant to the Charlotte area. We went to Myrtle 10 years ago for the first time and have never been back. We don't plan to go again if we can help it.
I'm just curious, do people in Charlotte vacation to Myrtle Beach South Carolina often?
As in, is that the main 'vacation' place that people living in Charlotte always go to when they want to get away to a beach with palm trees?
i know that's a strange question but just wondering.
I don't know if it's the "main" place but yes a lot of people go. I think the rich folk are not typically a fan of Myrtle and prefer the Charleston area beaches. Lots of beaches in NC just north of the SC line that aren't much further than Myrtle too.
Myrtle Beach is great for teenagers but absolutely not a good spot for older adults or families. I have been to the 'beach' hundreds of times in my lifetime but stayed in Myrtle twice (high school spring break).
There are much better beaches in NC and SC than Myrtle.

It's not a particularly scenic beach but there's a lot to do otherwise (nightlife, shopping, seafood, etc.). Make sure to avoid the "theme weeks". If I was planning a trip I'd go after Labor Day. Less crowded and cheaper.

Many folks I know have vacation homes in or near N Myrtle. I'm not a fan of Myrtle either, only went there when my son had AAU tournaments (which is quite popular there). Lots of activities, my daughter used to go there during summer when she was in her college years. My go to place is HHI, like Charleston, there are many other nice beach options in NC/SC.
Redneck Rivera, I heard that from folks that I worked with in Charlotte
