I have always preferred a Mom and Pop greasy spoon to a chain, and the best I have tried so far in Charlotte is Dino's on Sugar Creek near Trion st.

Original Pancake House, Pike's Soda Shop, and Frankie's Italian Grill (good Sunday brunch buffet) are 3 of our favorites for breakfast.

My husband goes to Zeda Jane's on Central of Showmars on 7th Street every Monday when my cleaning lady comes. He has such a Puritain background that he can't sit there doing nothing while someone else works in his home. It doesn't bother me at at all!! It's true that opposites attract!!!!!

Actually, I don't quite get your drift. What kind of place is it? Ultra-fancy or something? Is it just in-laws that would be impressed, or just about anyone?
