Due to Hurricane Sandy, my MIL & SIL in Breezy Pt., NY are now homeless. They are safe & staying with relatives for now, but it is a strong possibility that my 83 yr old MIL will be coming down to NC to stay with us while my SIL stays in NY for work & to rebuild their home.

My MIL has Alzheimer's & other medical issues. She can stay with us in our home but & is reaching the point where she will need care 24x7. I am in Mooresville. Can anyone recommend any Alzheimer Care/Elder Care facilities? We would prefer something close to us, but we're willing to travel 50 miles/a hour's drive away.

TIA

There is a nice facility on Park Road going south just before Tyvola Road. I don't know the address or the name of the place. I just know that it facilitates people with alzheimer's. I am sure someone else will know the name of the place. I also believe that there is a facility in Highland Park, Huntersville. What is a "MIL" or a "SIL"? Just curious.

There is a really nice place here in Mooresville called Emeritus at Churchill. The address is 140 Carriage Club Dr. Mooresville,28117. Phone is 704-658-1200. It's a really nice place. They have assisted living, senior living as well as Alzheimer and memory care facilities.Best of luck to you and sorry they have been displaced by the hurricane.

The Havens is the place you are thinking of at Highland Creek. Cuthbertson at Aldersgate also has excellent memory care units. Neither of these places is cheap but seem to be really well run and have great programs.
