I received a letter today from Duke about this plan....It costs approx $11 a month more than my average electric bill. It would be approx $90 a month and my current average is $79 a month. Do any of you use this plan? Are you satisfied with it? Do you think it's worthwhile? I like the idea of the same price every month.Thanks

Been using it for several years. It really is nice to not have some big huge bill jump out at you after a heat wave in July or August, or an ice storm in December or January

Yep. I always ask for a budgeted plan for any utilities (we get it for our electricity and gas).

I have had it for years in other states - as others said, it's great to be able to budget the same am't each month and not have a huge bill in the hottest or coldest weather! They send you a summary every month with your statement so you can see how it's going, like $95 balance or $25 debit, etc.

I was persuaded by a friend before moving to join the rate plan. I'm happy that obliged, my bill was $90 monthly. I made one year here and they just lowered it to $78. I guess I was utilizing enough energy. They were great at crediting my account for not using the energy. I won't have to pay a bill for aobut three months.

IMO its a great thing. Life is complicated enough...why create aggravation of uneven bills when you can do this?

I guess I don't see the value in doing this. If your "average" bill is $79.00 why would you want to pay $90.00 consistently for the entire year?
