PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL INVITATIONAL CRITERIUM – Uptown Charlotte
The Men’s 50-mile twilight criterium and the Women’s 25-mile criterium will be held on the streets of center city Charlotte. The Women’s event starts at 5:30pm followed by the Men’s event at 7:00pm, pre race festivities begin 1 hour before. The event is part of the USA Cycling's National Racing Calendar (NRC) and attracts Professional riders from around the world. The event will be spectator friendly and will be held on a 1.3 mile course in center city Charlotte.

Don't forget the Gallery Crawl in NoDa, first and third Fridays of every month.

And on August 15, I will hope to see you at The Boulevard at NoDa at "Big Black Dogs ROCK", an event to promote the adoption of black dogs and cats, the least likely animals to be adopted from the shelter. The event lasts from 6:30-8:30 pm. More info: NoDa Home - Charlotte's Historic Arts District

Sci Fi author Terry Brooks will be making a rare appearance in Charlotte NC, September 6th at the Charlotte Convention Center.

He will host a Sci Fi/Fantasy Costume Contest. Three people will win one of the following:

- $500 in cash
- All signed copies of Terry Brooks books
- $200 Bi Lo gift card

The link below has more info on the event above. This is actually a free all day event, with other performers as well. Beside the free admission, there are also free things for ladies like makeovers, giveaways, etc. Its geared primarly to african-american women, and is essentially the replacement of the former free Pantene tour event, for those who may remember that.
