I'm not too worried about the existing WalMart site on JW Clay Blvd. It will most likely sit empty for a little bit while we're in this downturn, but it's a prime location...any number of stores could take over there. One of the most popular renovators is places like LA Fitness (or similar gym).
Well it's getting close to opening day for the new Super Wal-Marts in the northern part of Mecklenburg and the Southeast part of Cabarrus to open.
I was wondering if anyone knew of the opening dates?
I believe the 29 W-M is opening next week (or weekend)? I sure hope, because they are clearing out the old one, not much left in there anymore, we'll there is but, not like normal. I hear that a Golden Corral and Taco Bell will be the 2 restaurants outside of W-M. Also heard that in a couple of years that the Sam's Club will be moving over there also.
I'm more wondering about the W-M near Concord Mills/Lowes HW, since that is closer to me.
Since it's getting close, thought I'd bump up this thread!!!!
June 15th is the date I've heard for the one near IKEA. And that was from some avid Wal-Marters!
I don't think anything in the Charlotte area has ever made the mother-in-law so anxious to visit! Two NEW Wal-Marts within 15 minutes of the house! Nevermind her son-in-law, daughter, and soon-to-be grandson!!!
As is mine. I love that they offer cheap crap that I sometimes need...but I hate how they can bring down an area (for a variety of reasons from their eventual typical clientele to the trashiness of their parking lots)
Actually, I'm surprised at how well hidden it is. Its outside HC, behind the Lowes and other businesses. Cant really see it from the main road either.
