HI
There is a new community that opened in South Charlotte called, Arbor Glen. Located in on Clanton Road off of Exit 7 on I-77 close to West Blvd and the Carolina Golf Club. I wanted to get an agent's perpesctive on the area. Do you think it's a good area to buy and then wait until they gentrify the area. Some people told me that withing 5-years that section of town will be completely different than now. I don't mind buying something for the long term I'm not into the quick buck. However I would not like to buy into something that will be stagnant. For some reason I'm a litte skeptical so if you can shed light it would be so apreciated, since at the same token there is alot of crime in that area.
The schools are the following:
Elementary: Reid Park Elementary
Middle: Wilson Middle
High: West Mecklenburg High School

The builder is Saussy Burbank and they are offering the Cottage Homes ( I like to call them Ginger Bread homes since they are so pretty with the lattice and other Victorian touches.) Prices start at the in the 120's to the early 180's. The size of homes ranging from 1300sq ft to 2100 sq ft.
Any infromation you have about the area I would apreciate it.
Thanks in advance
Ani

Ani,
I really wish I had a crystal ball...
As realtors, we have to be very careful about what we say about "what will be" since honestly we don't know for sure. I think Saussy is an excellent builder with a great reputation in the Charlotte area, but again, I'm not sure anyone knows what will be in that area.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but best of luck to you!

I recently bought a home in Arbor Glen after doing a lot of research. For me, the main selling factor is the location - being close to uptown, the reputation of the builder, and the floorplans. Of course, the price is also attractive. I personally like the community and I'm excited about its potential. I currently live in a condo in Southend and want the space of a home.

I have no idea if the area will see significant appreciation, but I greatly prefer urban infill projects to suburbia.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone else who has bought in Arbor Glen.

hey Anigirli - mind typing in larger print (font) for us older folk

Seriously though...I am more curious than anything...as you mention Arbor Glen being in South Charlotte...that area is considered South Charlotte still?
