I keep hearing about a new waterfront development in Troutman that is supposed to be like Birkdale Village. Anybody know when it will be completed? I guess it will be a traffic nightmare--but is that likely to ease once construction is done? Since we'll be retiring and don't need to worry about traffic, it sounds promising... but I would love to hear real opinions, pro AND con from people who know the area.

I think its going to be exciting times for that area. Traffic is not that bad up there now. It prob will be worse than it is now but nothing like the Brawley School road area.

Were in Troutman did buy? We are coming down next month when our home is finished. We love it there as well. CharlotteAgent warned me about that development and he was right but it won be that close to exit 42. I am right off State Park rd and i am hoping they do not use that road. I know 5 back road wasy into my development so traffic should not be an issue

I don't think the name has been determined yet, but I think the developer is GS Carolina. www.[domain blocked due to spam].net is a great site to find information about this project.

THis is dated March 2006, but I think this is the development this thread is referring to.

Troutman is developing very quickly, and it's a very nice place to live. news is, troutman is also getting a wal-mart as well. i don't agree with it, because it could bring some crazies and we don't won't that. It's crazy that Troutman is getting a mall. Statesville still got the ol signal hill mall with only two stores
