I am having difficulty finding an accounting or audit position in the Charlotte area and was wondering if anyone out there could give me some solid guidance. I have worked with a few of the major headhunters for the past 3 months and haven't had much luck. I am trying to relocate from Maryland to Charlotte and am not requiring relocation assistance (although it would be nice if the company offers it to me) and I have an MBA in Finance and 7 years of audit experience (2 years in public accounting) so I am bringing some pretty strong credentials to the table, but I dont want to have to travel more than 25%. I was hoping that someone could provide me with some solid leads or connections.

Are you looking to stay away from the big four?

Accounting/Audit Jobs In Charlotte
Yes, I am looking to avoid the Big 4. I spent 2 years in the Big 4 and that was more than enough for me. That is my LAST OPTION.

Accounting/Audit jobs are tough to find in the Charlotte area right now unless you have Big 4 background and a CPA license.

I think it is the pickiness that makes it difficult. Most auditors can't say they will only travel 25%.
CPA may not be necessary if you have an MBA and whatever testing is necessary.
DH works for a Big 4, but he got the job through a headhunter.

Good Luck! You might find that this journey takes longer then you'd like due to the economy right now.

Are you open to working for some of the larger public firms in Charlotte (outside the big 4)?

I am willing to consider public accounting firms outside of the Big 4. That is definitely an option for me.

I am looking to return to Big 4 but it has been a few years and my contacts have all moved out of the big4. Does anyone have any preference or referral for a head hunter?
Sincerely
