Hi all, me and my hubby will be moving there hopefully in a year or less. This is kind of my first attempt at research. From what i've read, charlotte sounds nice. We need to be somewhere around the airport or a few miles in any direction b/c of our jobs. We also have a 2 year old and need to be around lots of parks and outdoor things. Just looking for a fun, family friendly place to live. By the way, I mean names of towns to live in OR apartment complexes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.!!

I'll take a stab since your post has many lookers but no posters. In general, the area around the airport (west Charlotte) is not held in high regard on this forum. However, there are places with an "easy" commute to the airport that are really nice. I'd suggest you look around Lake Wylie, Steele creek area and Fort mill to start. These are all in the southwest area of Charlotte and its burbs. Fort Mill's schools are touted to be some of the best in the area.

Default ideas...

Good luck with your upcoming move. The airport is accessible to many areas. Closest would be Belmont and Mount Holly, although there are not very many apartments. Your best bet would be the Steele Creek area. Steelecroft is a new complex which is close to shopping, library, parks.....
I have a couple friends that live in Alta Steele Creek and love it (they have no children though). Hope this helps you.

Okay, so I found out that my hubby will be working in Pageland, SC so according to the map, the areas in the middle are Mint Hill, Matthews, Stalings, and Indial Trail. I am sure there are some that I missed, I'm just going off a mapquest map. Any suggestions on these areas and if they are places to consider or totally stay away from? Thanks.
