I am an African American woman who has lived in Detroit all of my life.... this is the only place I know. I am coming to Charlotte to visit in hopes of relocating. I have only been to Alabama once and I have visited Florida plenty of times. Alabama was ok and Florida was a little too fast for me...I am very afraid of living somewhere and not liking it....Can anyone offer some insight on the differences of living South than North? Please excuse my inexperience on this subject...Please help!
Don't worry, Kisha. Any move or "the unknown" is a little frightning. Charlotte's a great area where people of all types get along well. People are really friendly. We have a very nice, sunny 4-season climate. The economy is very strong. Plan a visit if you can and check it out for yourself. If you want any specific info., just pm me. Good luck in your search!!!

"Any northerners now living in Charlotte. " Kisha - we are many.
I can't comment specifically on your question because I'm not from the North. But as was said ealier you will certainly be in good company if you move here. I have several friends here from up North and they love it. On another note, I have sent you some private messages with some additional information you may find interesting.

Kisha, if you could say a little more about the reasons you want to move (weather, slower pace, etc., etc.), it will help in answering your question.
