Please list special events going on for New Years Eve - bars, restaurants, hotels, etc who host a special evening.

Also, where have you gone in the past and how did you like it?

Last year we went to the party at Ballantyne Village Theater (the red hot center). It was fun, but we were on the younger side for that crowd. The live band was great, food good, drinks kept pouring. But we want something different this year.

I went to Blue last year. Be sure to reserve a table. I did that just for dessert, arriving at 10:30 and was NOT sorry. The bar fills up like crazy, and it is SO nice to have a table.

This year:

Dec 31:
- Bobcats play at the arena!
- Studio B NYE Celebration, Ballantyne Resort. Dress in "Celebrity Attire." $208/per person includes a room overnight at Ballantyne Resort and entrance to the party.
- McNinch House: Six course dinner, jazz guitar, adn champagne toast, $450/couple.
- Liquid Louge NYE Party, 8p-2a
- Perpetual Groove concert for NYE celebration, Neighborhood Theater
Neighborhood Theatre
- The Forum NYE party, featuring DJ Five from Tao in Vegas. $30 presale. 9P-2:15A
- NYE Murder Mystery in Matthews New Year's Eve (http://www.matthewsplayhouse.com/mp2newyearseve.htm - broken link)
- Amos's SouthEnd will have multiple performers. $20

Every bar is open and has a countdown. There is a lot going on that I have not listed, I will update as I get more info on times, places, etc.

The last two years we have gone to the Hilton University. Couple different packages to choose from including champagne/choc covered strawberries in your room*, open bar, buffet, band, party favors, room*, breakfast*. The * are the varying options. They could do a little better on the buffet line, they've done it two different ways and neither really worked that great. The seating seats 10 - I think....maybe 12. We have always gone with a group of people and have an awesome time. No worries about drinking and driving, or just driving home that late and being concerned about other drivers. The first year we got everything (including the *), last year we did it without the *, saved $50 or even $100 (don't remember), still had a great time. They advertised in the University City Magazine, I really didn't see alot of advertisment, not even on their website. You may have to call them to ask about what the deals are this year.
