Are there any sports bars within walking distance of the Southpark Mall? My roommate & I are moving to a condo complex on Sharon Rd & Fairview & would like to leave the car at home on Sunday to walk to a nice place to watch football. We're from Buffalo NY so would like to view the Buffalo Bills games as well as other events.
We already know about other sports bars such as Tavern on the Tracks in Southend & a few other places further out. But if possible, we'd like to walk (or bike?) to a bar near home to watch Bills games. He smokes, I don't, so we would need a place with a patio.
The closest you are going to find the game on is probably Angry Ale's. While it is not walking distance it's a short cheap cab ride and has good food..
If you drive a little south to Fort Mill (160), there is Towne Tavern of Fort Mill. They are a Buffalo Bills bar. For Sunday, you can bring your own beer. The negative is that they are a non-smoking bar so you would have to smoke outside.
Angry Ale's is located on Montford (st?). It is right off of Park Rd. They are a smoking bar and do have a patio(which happens to have TV's on it as well) the downside is most of the less popular games are on TV's that are on the smaller side. It depends what teams are playing at what time etc. Great time though, and like I said earlier, excellent food. A little father is Picasso's Dilworth location (about 8-10 min from where you live). They have all the games on every Sunday. I have always seen all sports fans represented. It is located on East Blvd.
I agree with Angry Ale's. Probably could bike there. About 3 miles from where you are. Unfortunately, not many Sports Bar options in Southpark. Fairview Grill is actually the closest bar to where you are, but not sure if they have the Ticket. I'd call. They are close to the corner of Park Rd/Fairview (Take right on Park and on your immediate left).
tavern on the tracks downtown is amazing. get there early though. nobody circles the wagons like the buffalo bills!!
