I need info on Lincolnton, NC please... (Charlotte: crime rate, hotel)

Im thinking of buying property in Lincolnton, NC. I live in New York, I dont know much about the area. Could anyone tell me if that is a good place to buy? I would not be moving there for like 10 years. Is the area considered safe? Hows the crime rate there? The land is so cheap, im suspicious about it.

Well...a lot can happen in 10 years. That area is growing so I don't think anyone can tell you exactly what it will be like by the time you move there. Right now it is a nice community, pretty rural. You should visit and get a feel for things yourself.

I live in Lincolnton. It's a smaller town, close to Charlotte (40-45 minutes), but with plenty of shopping and restaurants...we have 2 hotel/motels, with plans to build a more upscale hotel in the near future. Violent crime here is rare.
I feel very safe here.
