I'm looking for a place to relocate and wondering if there are plentiful jobs for a teacher who teaches pre-3rd grade and what the salary range would be like??
Starting salary would be about $30K-$32K.
And, the market is pretty saturated for early elementary here. The only areas where jobs are available are MS and HS. Elementary jobs are hard to come by here, just like the rest of the country. My neighboring school had to lay 2 teachers off for this school year.

Check on the web: Charlotte/Mecklenburg schools. It lists jobs and salaries. Job possibility seems to always be pretty good. Bring your flak jacket. LOL.
He was being faceitous, there seems to be a bit of that going on around here lately. Listen to Jaynarie, she's a teacher too and knows what she's talking about. And since you sound like a young teacher (meaning inexperienced) try one of the nearby smaller school systems to get started in - Cabarrus County, Lincoln County or Gaston County.
I agree with lovesMountains. Stay away from CMS! In case you didn't hear me the first time: STAY AWAY FROM CMS!!! Look for a job in surrounding districts. CMS is big, disorganized, and completely out of control! The smaller districts are more organized and students behave better in smaller districts than in CMS because the parents are involved and the administrators actually enforce the rules and back up the teachers, not to mention schools are much smaller. In CMS, don't expect any support from the principals because they don't get support from up top so you're on your own. Take it from someone who has been there and done that! Let me put it to you this way, even if someone offered me a million dollars to go teach in CMS for a year, I wouldn't do it! Of course, I know of a couple of teachers who work in CMS and love it. I personally hated it and so do many other teachers.

I only advised her toward the smaller school systems because she sounds young, which usually translates into "inexperienced". CMS has more inner city type schools than the other systems and they need veteran, experienced teachers.
But you said yourself, you know teachers who LOVE teaching in CMS, so don't slam the whole system just because it wasn't for you. There are some great schools in Charlotte, and some great opportunities to make a huge difference in kids lives in some struggling schools. I hope veteran teachers will look at CMS FIRST.
The two teachers I know who love CMS are veteran teachers. But I know many more who hate CMS for various reasons and many leave the district each year. At my last school we would share tales from the trenches LOL! If you are a veteran teacher, then you may be OK. If not, then the smaller districts would be a much easier place to teach. Also, I taught in one of the better schools in CMS and we received very little money for instructional supplies and textbooks were falling apart. In smaller districts where I've worked, I had lots of instructional money and if I needed more we always found a way to get it. At the end of the year the principal even told us to leave a wish list for any supplies we wanted. I left a wish list and then a much smaller list of essentials. She got me everything on the wish list! It was like Christmas morning when I walked into the classroom and saw all the boxes of supplies. The lower performing schools in CMS many times get more money for instructional aids. At my school, we barely had money for scan trons for their final exam and other essential items. I ended up spending money of my own to purchase supplies for the classroom. I could go on and on about CMS...
