Does anyone have information on the school student population size for Marvin Elementary and Marvin Ridge Middle School for 2007/2008.

I know overcrowding has been an issue and wondering what the impact of the new schools on especially Marvin Elementary.

My main concern about Union is overcrowding and I am trying to determine if things would be better in Catholic School

Thanx

Marvin Elem. school has their student population online. The numbers will most likely stay the same but there will be reshuffling. Many at Marvin will go to the new Rae View and many at Sandy Ridge will go back to Marvin where they transfered from.

Default Overcrowding

If the growth in Union is any indication, the schools you describe will be at or over capacity within a couple of years, if they are not already.

Union, NC is currently experiencing other difficulties as well.

Hope this helps.

If you plan on living in Union County for many years and you have a kindergartener or pre-schooler, be prepared to be shuffled around a few times. It's just the way it is with all of the growth in the area. Luckily, they try to keep the children together as far as the neighborhoods go. (For example, I have a neighbor whose 6th grader has been to 3 different schools in 3 years and they've been living in their home for nearly 10 years.) So, it's not guaranteed that if your child starts in kindergarten in one school, that he/she will stay there through 5th grade. One thing is for sure, the schools in the area are very good. JMO
