We're from Long Island and are planning a move to Indian Trail. We are actually in contract on a new house and was just wondering if anyone has recently moved there and would like some input on the area. We have taken several trips and really like it there. If everything goes as planned we should be down there by Oct. or Nov..It's always good to here from people that have gone through the same thing. Your opinions would help alot!!!! Thanks!!

We are in the Indian Trail area. We like it. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that Hwy 74 is run down in some areas and you have to pass a few "less desireable" locations to get down to where we are. But I've learned you can take Idlewild and not have to go that route to get to 485.

I know what you mean about Hwy 74. We found that Old Monroe Rd. also takes you to 485. Do you have kids in the Union County schools? Ours would be assigned to Sun Valley Middle & either Shiloh elem.(which is a year round school) or Indian Trail elem.
I heard they were good schools, but they just seem so overcrowded with all of the people moving to the area. I know they will be adding 2 new schools for the 2007 school year. My daughter is excited about the move. One of her best friends just moved to the Wesley Chapel area.
I have been researching the Union county area for a while now & it seems like a great place to raise a family.

Yes, Old Monroe does go to 485 as well- depending on which side you are on, you can do that or Idlewild. You may want to go to the Union County Public schools website and look at the different schools. The year round calendar may be difficult if you have another child in a traditonal calendar...

We have been very pleased with the schools here but I have never been to Indian Trail or Shiloh. The Indian Trail school looks like it has a lot of trailers out front though...check them out...I don't know how they are on transfers here but you may want to see. To me, it is worth a little drive to have the school you want. But again, I don't know how this county views transfers.
