I'm looking to open a bank account & was wondering are there any banks where you can bring in your loose unwrapped change & they'll give you dollars without charging a fee? I know Commerce Bank does that but I don't see them around here. I was hoping somebody would know. Happy & healthy new year!

There are these big machines in Harris Teeter that will do that, but, I think that they charge you a small fee...

Yep, they're usually Coinstar machines. You can go to their web site to find the closest one to you. Some are located in banks too. No charge to existing bank customers.

If you choose the gift card option for payout on those machines they dont take any fees from your total. I fill my Starbucks card this way all the time
