Hey just a quick question if you don't mind. We're considering relocation (as you've probably heard this a million times already lol), but the question I have is this:
What are the major differences between the surrounding areas/suburbs of Charlotte? What areas are nicer, more upscale compared to the areas that aren't as much?
We're looking for good schools (for children), access to parks and downtown - We'd most likely rent before we purchase and we're interested in finding out which areas are more desirable - We'd LOVE to find somewhere that has parks, shopping, etc for nights/weekends that's not crime-ridden
Thanks in advance for anything you can provide!!!!
each area around uptown have their own little flair that makes them each unique
Areas to consider near uptown, Dilworth, Plaza Midwood, Southend, 4th ward

Directly surrounding uptown look south and east to live. West and north are regentrifying but the schools are not great.
I've been living in 4th Ward for a few weeks now and I love it. I don't have a car anymore but I can walk to the grocery store, tons of restaurants, my job, ect. I don't have kids but there is the Discovery Place and Imaginon that you can walk to to keep the kids reading and entertained. There are a few "shady" streets around me I wouldn't walk by myself at night, but that goes for any uptown area.
Good luck on finding an area!
