Can anyone help me out with information about golf course communities around Charlotte. My wife and I are looking at homes in the 300k to 400k range. Also, I would appreicate any information on the cost of joining the golf clubs. Thanks

Birkdale is a good one. Its a public course though. River Run is another but $400K might be hard to get in there.... Skybrook is another public course with homes from the $200K to the $900's.

Mooresville has some older communities on golf courses.

Let me know if I can help

Have you looked at The Palisades? It right at the NC / SC Border near the Buster Boyd Bridge

If you are considering the south side of town and/or Union County, try Olde Sycamore, Shannamara, Raintree for starters. Feel free to PM me if you would like me to send a relocation packet (I can include golf information as well as area maps) or set up an automated online property search for you. Best of luck to you

You might want to try golf communities in the Fort Mill, SC area. Tega Cay, Regent Park and the Fort Mill Fairway have homes in your price range and are nice courses.

Highland Creek. Shea homes has a new section of homes located in Cabarrus County starting in the mid 300K range. You will find golf, 4-5 swimming pools, multiple tennis courts, sports complex, etc. Shea just opened this phase a few months ago and the homes look very nice. The lots are about 1/3 acre.

I know Raintree has been mentioned, but I'll add that the $11000+ initiation fee is waived for homeowners. And a full golf membership is barely more than $250 a month, for unlimited greens fees on 2 championship courses.

I think the best I found so far is Northstone although I saw nicer homes in my price range at other places. I loved the clubhouse and golf course as well as the pay for what you want situation.
