We have a guest coming from out of town tonight and have no idea where to go for dinner! It seems like most places close early on Sundays and he won't be in town until 7:30 or 8, so it will be a late dinner. We live in North Charlotte, off of exit 18. Any suggestions?? It can be casual. Thanks so much!

Check with Ruby Tuesdays. Most of them are open late (at least midnight) every night.

There's always Denny's and Waffle Houses for late-night eats.

Landmark Diner in Charlotte is open 24x7.

How about Hawthorne's? I'm going to the Elizabeth location tonight with my fiance and her parents. I've been many times before, and am always pleased. It's nothing crazy fancy, but nice enough. Very good pizzas, good sammiches -- and be sure to get the homemade potato chips as an appetizer.

And they even have a location that looks like it's pretty darned close to you. They're open til midnight on Sundays.

Several in Birkdale Village. Sit down, Red Rocks. More casual or "bar food" Fox and Hound or Brixx.

Sunday eve restaurants are everywhere here off I-77 - Exit, 25, Huntersville; Exit 28, Cornelius; Exit 30, Davidson; and all the way up to Exit 36 in Mooresville. We have GOOD places for families and for special occasions.

Asian, American, buffets, Italian, Greek, Seafood, Steaks and chops, formal and informal.

The number of exclamation points in that last post makes me suspect it's from a shill.

And the fact that they dredged up a months-old thread that was asking a timely question.
