I have very few actual locals in my neighborhood. My local neighbors don't let their dogs crap on the sidewalks like the transplants. Or a they say in NYC, "Leave landmines".
That is disgusting. Do you have a HOA? No way I would not protest that. Nasty and irresponsible.
I suspect people have seen it happen. We had one dog owner who did that in my former neighborhood. People are stupid if they think others don't watch, LOL.

I know. We had strict leash laws in South Jersey, but it was the way Bandi stated it that made me wonder.
Oh, I didn't mean to sound like such a smarty pants, LOL!!! That didn't come across like I meant . . . sorry for sounding harsh, Ladies.
To be frank, I took a picture of the jerk in our neighborhood letting his dog poop on the sidewalk across from my street - and sent it to him and said WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE.
So I am one of the people who watch.
ETA: I am sure he knew I took the picture cause of the vantage point!!! But I didn't care. The point was I had memorialized the crap, so to speak, on film for the HOA. However, he quit walking on our street after he got my photo.

It must be a NY thing cuz we folk from MD know how to pick up after our dogs, except if its our own yard then we get to it on the weekends, lol. Oh and I know the dog owner responsible for this, actually there are two. One from NY other from Ohio. And yes it is gross at least get the dog to aim at the grass not the sidewalk.......

Very good idea, I need to do this. I did do it already for the dog in the pool, again owners from NJ. That was the most gross thing I had ever seen and I had to walk across the street and say something at that moment but still forwarded the photo to HOA

My experience w/ HOA and people getting citations or warnings is that if there is no real way to PROVE the situation and who is responsible - people try to wiggle out of it. So I am a big advocate of taking pictures. Now, my first response is to discuss it, but honestly - dogs pooping on sidewalks - there is no way a person could think that was acceptable. We used those sidewalks to get to the greenway and walk our dogs and get out in strollers. A person who will do this is simply irresponsible and doesn't care about others, so I won't even bother to discuss the situation w/ someone like that. This guy was a frequent flyer w/ the poop - DAILY - and we were all disgusted.
Same w/ someone who would allow a dog in the pool. What people do w/ their dogs at home in their own pool - their business. Public pool? No way.
