Hello! Happy Spring!
We are relocating to Mooresville NC in the next month.
I have a 3 1/2 year old and am looking for recommendations on preschools in the area.
I have done some research on the internet but am really looking for locals who can give me some insight as to where I want to be looking.
Any suggestions are much appreciated!!!!
Sincerely,
dh

Preschool info
I have some insight as a Mooresville resident and mom on preschools. Currently there are many waiting lists because the area has grown so quickly and the preschools located near the high growth areas fill up fast. I am on the preschool committee at First Baptist Mooresville and last I checked we still had some openings. We are a relatively new program (5 years) and mostly have gotten students by word of mouth. My son has gone here and my daughter is 3 and is currently in the 2 year old program. She loves it, ratio is 8 students: 2 teachers for the 2 years olds and 10 students: 2 teachers for 3's and 4's. The 3 year old program is MWF and around $130. If you want to check the number is 704-799-1280 and Jennifer Readling is the director. She can give you a tour and you can visit while kids are there to get a feel for it.
The programs with good reputations and that have been around awhile are St. Marks, First Presbyterian, Pennisula Baptist and Williamson Chapel. From what I hear these are all good choices but may already be full. Good luck finding a spot, I highly recommend sending children to preschool, great for social development.

Sounds like these are all church related preschools? Are they religious?
Any recommendations for non-church nurseries?

Thank you Stonecroft! I called the Baptist Church and look forward to touring the school in a few weeks. I have also made appts at Chesterbrook Academy and Bright Start - as they had openings,
I really liked the MWF program that goes just until noon for my 3 1/2 year old.
Thanks again for your much needed and very helpful advice!!!
Sincerely
Hahnd - soon to be in Mooresville!

I know the YMCA's have pre school programs. My daughter in law works in the one in Davidson. There is a new Y in Mooresville. My grandsons have attended them and dil was happy with the pre school.
I do not know if you have to be a member of the Y in order for your child to attend pre school there.

Chesterbrook Academy in Mooresville is a very high quality private preschool, with a great educational curriculum. The care and education that they offer to children 6wks to 5 years is above any school I have ever seen. They are a must check for anyone who is looking for high quality childcare!!
