I am looking for a daycare provider in the South Charlotte area for a 3 year old. I would prefer a daycare that have a number of kids instead of just a couple in someone's home. I would like to know contact information and the monthly cost. Thanks!

If you go here NC Div of Child Development- Searching Resources in Child Care and type in the zip code of the area you are looking for you can find licensed providers in your area - both centers and homes - as well as their ratings and contact information.

Calvary Child Development Center is very highly rated, and one of the largest in Charlotte.

Would anyone recommend another schoold besides Calvary, since they have nothing full-time during the summer. What do parents do when they have to work and don't have a daycare to take their child too during the summer time?

Someone I work with is using Primrose (Park Road Extension, I think) and they love it.

My children were there for three years, we were very happy, until a teacher hit my kid. The director ensured mt the teacher was gone, until some of the other teachers informed me that she was hiding this teacher in the bathroom. when I dropped off and picked up my kids. Can you believe this? We are now on the hunt for new daycare. So upsetting,

Depending where exactly in South Charlotte you are, I would recommend Field of Dreams in Baxter Village. They are building a new location in Indian Land just on 521 near Hwy 160. We had two kids there before we moved and miss the staff and teachers. They are amazing.

Yup - I can totally believe this. I worked at a 5 star preschool in S.Charlotte and they have hidden children on more than one occasion so that they weren't over ratio when inspectors come. They also moved problem children out of classrooms during the star rating process. I would NEVER EVER put my child in a for-profit center. If you don't want to go w/Calvary, find another church that has a summer program.
