Cherokee-this post was funny! I just want to go see it for the heck of it. It reminds me of one I saw in a movie.

I love AC but my hubby doesn't! I guess I will be skipping the gambling down there.

Is NC really like the bible belt? I thought that was more of a mid-west thing? Oh great!

Go to Vegas midweek and you can usually get $50-$80 rates in the nice hotels on the strip. Flights aren't bad either... I'm with you that it's not a casino unless it has BJ and craps.

I am going to miss quick runs to Mohegan Sun but there are plenty of direct flights from CLT to LAS.

Vegas, baby... Vegas!

Its computerized. I used to go all the time when I was at school in the mountains. It was fun for a while & it used to be 18 & up....but they realized that so many college kids were failing out of school because they were going to the casino 24/7 (its within driving distance of the Univ. of TN, UNCA, WCU, Mars Hill, Brevard, etc.) that they raised the age to 21. Plus, last time I checked it was alcohol free. I did see Jay Leno one of the last times I was up there though. He was doing a gig at the casino.

Hahahaha. Yes. Its not too bad here in the Charlotte area, but if you go into the mountains, hooo boy! Charlotte/Ft. Mill was home to PTL & Jim & Tammy Faye Bakker. But this conversation is for another thread.

Well they aren't from here really. They had their ministry based in Ft. Mill (right near Charlotte). And I think their daughter still lives here (in Matthews). A dew yrs back I saw Tammy Faye at Carolina Place (w/ her daughter & her grandkids)

Pretty little Bible Belt map I found for y'all:

And in regard to Tammy Faye,
Quick trivia fact: Tammy Faye actually lives in the Charlotte area and has for years with her husband (last poster was right, last I heard she was in the Matthews area). Sadly, she is now practically bed-ridden due to her cancer, and receives Hospice visits. I met her a few times when I worked in Charlotte media.

Maybe it's time I open that illegal gambling hall I've always been dreaming of... I guess I should have bought the larger garage for the craps table!
