I'm hearing rumours from lots of folks at this stage that the delay in widening Providence Road from 485 down to the tracks at Waxhaw is definitely delayed at this stage due to budget cuts and someone said they found evidence of the rare Tarheel mussel in one of the creeks, so they need to figure out a work-around to not harm their natural environment.

I know that they were supposed to start designing the work later this year, and officially begin work in 2008--which I'm sure will end up being a horror.

What have people hear in relation to this?
