I was thinking about putting some essential oils together and make a Charlotte fragrance.

But I really want it to evoke Charlotte.

So I started thinking about that . . . and I dunno.

I can come up with a Blowing Rock fragrance. And I think I could come up with a Charleston fragrance. But I am not so sure about Charlotte.

I was thinking . . . Night blooming Jasmine, honeysuckle, bergamot and just a hint of chocolate mint. But the bergamot reminds me more of Charleston, I think. I kind of want something to punch it up - like maybe - grapefruit? It needs some crisp . . .

Just wondering what you think of as far as fragrances when you think of Charlotte.

Your olfactory sense must be more acute than mine, I don't notice a particular smell. Other than in the summer when is really hot I can smell burning rubber which I assume is coming from that place over on Smith & 11th.

I've noticed around the Carmel area a definite, sharp pine scent. Often this is accompanied by the scent of a wood fire. Also, the Bradford Pears do provide a nice aroma this time of year.

How about the smell from the bakery on 85 at about 2 in the morning?

Sometimes I'll smell raw sewage in uptown out of the man hole covers. (no pun intended... )

Well, there's also the Pineville WWTP, but I was thinking of scents you'd want present in your home.

I must really have no sense of smell. I used to live near there and never smelled anything.

Come to think of it, the rain has a destinct scent, too. When it rains, there's a very earthy scent. At times, I swear I can smell cedar.
