Is there a website where you can look up property tax information for a specific property in Union County? I know there's one for Mecklenburg (http://meckcama.co.mecklenburg.nc.us/relookup) but I couldn't find one for Union.

Thanks!

this was all I could find...hope it helps a little.

http://www.co.union.nc.us/gov_offices/tax_admin/taxad.htm (broken link)

You may need to look at individual towns to find the exact tax. I know it does vary by town.

Thank you. I'm actually looking for tax information on a home in Hunter Oaks, which is in an "unincorporated" part of Union County right off Rea Road just south of the county line. The mailing address is Waxhaw, but it's not technically part of the Waxhaw municipality.

I know that the tax rate for Union County is $0.6367 per $100 of assessed value (and an additional $0.34 per $100 if you live within the Waxhaw municipality, which I don't think is the case with Hunter Oaks)...but what I need to find out is the assessed value of the home. Is there any way I could look this up by address?

Hi Jason,
Your realtor should be able to tell you what the taxes are -- there is a link on the MLS to tax information for each specific property.

Thank you both - we saw a home in there this weekend that we absolutely loved, but we aren't able to pull the trigger yet and probably won't be able to do so for the next 2 months or so. But it's always good to know everything up front, and the MLS listing didn't have tax information for the house - so I ended up calling the property tax office of Union County over the phone and they gave me the information. The house is listed at $375,000 - the assessed value is $238,180 and taxes are $1,552.69.

Not bad - any idea how much the homeowner insurance would be? The house was built in 1995 and has 3,100 sq. ft.

NJmomof2, don't worry! I'm sure there will be other houses coming on the market there in May and June.

If by any chance you have the link you were referencing, please let me know.
