It's in Union County, you can see the county line on this map:

Map of 4015 Lawrence Daniel Dr Matthews, NC by MapQuest

Don't be confused because it says "Matthews", that's not where the house is, just the post office that delivers the mail there.

Hmm, I'm curious, too. Meck has higher taxes and 28104 in Union County should be Antioch/Weddington schools. ???

28104 zip is the tipoff for Union County (Matthews)
It is in Stallings, NC which is Union County. According to the address it is considered City of Stallings which will mean two tax bills, one county and one city.

It would not be Antioch Elementary, it would be Stallings Elementary a new school that just opened this year almost across the street from the neighborhood. The middle and high feeder would be Porter Ridge.

But it's thisclose to the meck line, are you sure that's not close enough for your kids schools? And guess I'm missing why your healthcare plan cares what county you live in? It's a really nice area

The house has a tax value of $217,180 which means based on 2008 tax rates the Union County tax would be $1444.28 and Stallings city tax $475.62 If it were in Matthews the Mecklenburg County tax would be $1821.49 and Matthews city tax $722.12.

So by it being in Union County, you save about $50 a month in taxes. Thats worth it to some, not a big deal to others. But for resale value, you would rather be in the Union County School District... and for those who do like an extra $50 in their pockets instead of the governments...they'd be more likley to buy your house should you ever decide to sell.

But...if you haven't signed the deal, there are plenty of houses on the Mecklenburg side for sale.

Default School locator for CMS

I use this all the time as I'm looking up where addresses are in terms of schools so when I do purchase I have an accurate idea of what schools my kids will be in. What is posted in MLS is not always accurate:

Geospatial Portal

At least if you don't find it on the map then it's not Meck. Kind of a roundabout way to do it.
