It's a brand new venue in the fourth ward. The first concert at the amphitheater will be The Fray on June 13th. It seems like it's going to be a cool place.
The N.C. Music Factory campus encompasses over 35 acres with more than 300,000 square ft of existing buildings located in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. The site is located in the historic Fourth Ward area, immediately adjacent to the Charlotte Central Business District, one of the most dynamic urban centers in the southeast.
The historic buildings at the factory are being restored to their original historic character and many of the tenant spaces include beautiful brick walls and hardwood floors. The development plan calls for the establishment of North Carolina's first All-Encompassing multi-use Arts and Entertainment district.
When complete, the development will include many restaurants, nightclubs, galleries and other Arts and Entertainment attractions. Many of the food and beverage establishments will have individual outdoor patios and courtyards creating a Charleston, SC market-like feel.
The new outdoor venue will seat approximately 5,000 people with 2,000 in reserved seating and 3,000 on the festival lawn. Along with views of the Charlotte skyline, the venue has traditional seating along with premium box seats, and an indoor VIP area with private restrooms and private bar. The concession area will reportedly have a "Bourbon Street" feel to it.
