I checked the Harris Teeter flyer online and the prices are the same as here. The tropicana OJ happens to be onsale 2 for $6 which is the same as when it is on sale here. I gathered from most of the flyer that food there will run me the same as food here. I spend about 170 a week for the four of us. This does not include the summer season of adding fruit and the visits to Costco. However reading about the farmers markets gives me hope that from April till probably Late Aug, it can be a little cheaper.
So now I know one expense that will not go down. Food.

Here is another thought...Is there tax on clothes in NC??

Produce from Super-Walmart or farmers markets.

Grocerys from Super-walmart.

Meat from fresh-market, just the two off us.

If was feeding a family I would buy the meat from BJ's
Can you tell me how far B.J.'s is from Indian Trail? Also, is there a Costco? Thanks

There is actually a Costco closest to Indian Trail, maybe about 4 miles away. BJ's is further up on hwy 74 going toward uptown Charlotte, about 8 miles or so I'm guessing

Are Costco and BJ's similiar to Sam's Club?

Also isn't there a Sam's Club in Matthews? This is where we normally buy out meat. Usually a little better than Wal-Mart.

Are there any actual "meat markets" in the Matthews area?

BJs Sams and Costco are all similar. I've been a member of each at one time or another. Sams has been OK, we switched to Costco when they moved in closer to us in CT. I didn't like that only business members could shop there until 11 am. So then I moved to BJS and loved it. We moved to Fayetteville NC last summer and found ONLY Sams club. I'm disappointed in what we have here. I was so happy to see this message and find BJs again! Our Sams membership is valid until September I think so I"ll try it out there and see if I like it better, but will happily switch back to BJs!
BJs I know (not sure about Costco) will let you walk through as a visitor to check out what they have.

You will find the price for eggs and milk MUCH cheaper at Sam's Club. Just have to make a list and stick with it in the warehouse clubs..
